Where to go by car

Zlín Zoo is located about 10 km from the center of Zlín. But you can get here by a different route than through the city center. It is one of the most beautiful places of Moravia that you can visit. You can combine the trip not only with a walk through the pavilions, but also with a tour of Lešná Chateau. The garden is divided into continents according to continents and includes a botanical garden, Yucatan Tropical Hall or Stingray Bay, which is quite unique. However, there is also commented animal feeding, train ride and for small explorers ride on a camel. You can visit the zoo any month of the year to make your day more enjoyable.

If you long for a peaceful walk through the beautiful castle garden, where you can enjoy the peace and beauty of this gem, head right here. The original name of the garden is Libosad and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can admire its beauty in every season. Access to the garden is subject to a fee, but it is worth it. It is an early Baroque garden, which combines not only the original architecture, but also sculptures, mazes, water features and garden art. In the middle of the garden you can see a rotunda, one side of the Flower Garden is a long colonnade, which you can also walk and see, decorated with statues of ancient gods, historical and ancient figures.

The chateau garden is perfectly created for quiet walks and recharge your batteries. You will see a network of built ponds, romantic buildings, corners and many wild animals. You can be interested in buildings such as Salla terrena, Temple of Friendship, Collored Colonnade and many others. The garden is free and can be accessed from multiple entrances, you can combine a walk with the already mentioned Flower Garden. You can visit the chateau garden all year round. Even this garden is a national cultural monument.

  • Rožnov pod Radhoštěm Open-air museum [70 minutes, navigovat, web]
This Wallachian Open Air Museum is the largest and oldest open-air museum in Europe. You will find more than 100 original listed buildings. It is thematically divided into three areas: Wooden Town, Wallachian Village and Mill Valley. In the oldest part of the museum you can see in the Wooden Town you can see the original transferred buildings but also many hilarious copies that will give you an earlier life, as it was with the level of housing or trades. Radhošť is the most famous mountain in the protected landscape area Beskydy. According to legend, the Slavic god Radegast had its seat here. The easiest way to get to Radhošť is Pustevny, which is the main tourist destination in the whole Beskydy. Pustevny can be reached by cable car, on foot, in summer by bike and even in winter on skis. There are typical wooden buildings built in folk style, and therefore you can find here the buildings of Dušan Jurkovič. Around you there is a beautiful unspoilt nature and with every step up there is one of the most beautiful views of the Beskydy, Wallachia, Jeseníky and Malá Fatra. If you visit Pustevny in winter, you can see a festival of ice sculptures.
