Below you’ll find a summary of places you shouldn’t miss visiting. There are simply certain things without which it wouldn’t be right to leave Luhačovice without having seen them. 

Luhačovice

Moravia’s largest spa has been caring for its guests since the 17th century. The River Šťávnice flows through the town. Mineral Healing Springs

These attract prospective guests and provide pleasant walks for current residents. Treatment is based primarily on utilising these healing sources in combination with the most modern therapeutic and rehabilitation methods. The more than 60 types of therapeutic procedures include drinking cures, inhalations, carbonic baths, compresses, massages, hydrotherapy procedures and more. Currently there are 16 mineral springs in Luhačovice, mostly hydrogen-carbonate-chloride-sodium mineral waters, with six of them emerging at the surface. One of the springs is sulphurous. 

You surely know the most famous ones: VincentkaOttovkaDr.Šťastného and Aloiska. The lesser known or completely unknown to people are New Jubilee Spring, Viola, Marie, Amandka, Elektra I., Elektra II., St. Josef Spring, Bystrica, New Reading Room, New Janovka, Vincentka II., Vladimír, Jaroslava and Sulphur Spring. The truth is that not all the mentioned springs emerge at the surface as already mentioned. You’ll find springs near the Spa Square, but also hidden in nature. 


The Renowned Architecture of Dušan Jurkovič

The atmosphere of the town is certainly ensured and enhanced by the perfect buildings of this Slovak architect. Jurkovič’s buildings were created at the beginning of the 20th century. Dušan Jurkovič created a unique collection of buildings in the folk Art Nouveau style. His buildings include Jurkovič House, the Hydrotherapy Institute, Sun BathsChaloupka, Music Pavilion, Jestřabí, Villa Vlastimila and Valaška. The most famous non-surviving building is Slovácká búda. Then there’s the Inhalation Pavilion and the Dairy. You can admire the buildings during a walk around Spa Square.

Luhačovice Reservoir

Combine a peaceful walk with a bike ride. It’s connected to Luhačovice by Jurkovič Avenue. The cycle path starts right next to the Sun and River Baths. It curves along the river. Tree shadows cast pleasant coolness on hot summer days. The reservoir is a frequent destination for walks. It’s suitable for hiking, cycling, inline skating, fishing, swimming, relaxation and other entertainment. The entire circuit is 3.3 km. Its primary purpose was flood protection. Along the reservoir itself you’ll find built rest areas, sports facilities and refreshment stands. In recent years the reservoir was completely emptied and cleaned. Now it serves everyone again. The Duha swimming area is also located nearby. If you’d like to brighten your day, you can easily get there by the local tourist train.

Radostova Sports Hall and Luhačovice Municipal Swimming Pool

Together these two buildings provide active sportspeople with perfect facilities. Radostova Hall is located on a hill, about 400 metres from Hotel Vincent. This multifunctional complex offers sports and recreational use for the general public. Football matches of local and visiting teams are regularly held here. Take a walk from town and enjoy something different. On warm days, a cold chilled beer will certainly come in handy. If you fancy some sport, you can use the outdoor tennis court. In winter it’s covered with an inflatable hall. Inside you’ll find a large hall, mirror room, gymnasium, badminton court and even a bowling alley. 


After a big sporting effort, you’ll certainly welcome the opportunity to cool down at the local municipal swimming pool. It’s located in the town centre. It’s a perfect place for individual visits as well as families with children. Swimming pool, adventure pool, whirlpool, children’s pool and steam cabin. All this is hidden under one roof. On summer days, even the terrace is opened where you can sunbathe.
