Cultural, leisure and social events belong to the spa town of Luhačovice just as much as the mineral healing springs. Throughout the year, programmes of these events are continuously scheduled. They are an ideal opportunity to combine a relaxing stay with us at Vincent and attend these programmes.
The Spring Opening Ceremony offers guests a rich programme connected with the launch of this year’s 2020 season. It is one of the most beautiful events held in Luhačovice. It always takes place in the first half of May. This year it falls on 8th May – 10th May. During the entire event, you can see countless programme variations prepared. On the Spa Square, cyclists on historic bicycles will be racing about, characters will be dressed in period costumes, and all this is complemented by an Art Nouveau photo studio. All historical performances are held under the baton of Calma association. Performances by folklore ensembles will take place in front of the Community House building. All this is complemented by a market taking place in the town centre.
Leoš Janáček is closely connected with the spa town. In honour of the composer, a music festival has been held annually since 1992, which ranks among the prestigious musical events in the Czech Republic. The main focus of this festival is to offer guests unforgettable artistic experiences from a series of concerts featuring the world-famous music of Leoš Janáček. All this takes place in the beautiful setting of Luhačovice spa. The harmony of nature and folk architecture by Dušan Jurkovič contributes to perfect relaxation. The festival will take place from 13th to 18th July 2020. Festival editions have been held under the patronage of many famous people including Václav Klaus, Livia Klausová and Prof. Eva Blahová.
Children’s ensembles with their colourful three-day programme of the International Song Festival will make all of Luhačovice dance and sing. The festival already has its established programme. Folk craft stalls and folk artists on the Spa Square also attract visitors’ interest. From the beginning, the organisers’ aim was to create an opportunity for children’s folklore ensembles from Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia to meet together with ensembles from other countries. Saturday is usually the main programme day. This year’s edition takes place on 10th September – 13th September 2020. Visitors can admire the beauty of folk costumes, dances and the joy of the performers.
We owe another regular event taking place in the town to the Luhačovice beautification association Calma . Hat Day is regularly held on the second Sunday in September to celebrate the birthday of Marie Calma Veselá. All visitors are warmly invited, some arrive at the spa already wearing their hat and others can purchase one at the stalls. Hats cultivate taste in style and elegance. Traditionally, a competition is announced for individuals and couples for the most attractive hat. The event helps you return to the times of your grandmothers and great-grandmothers. A Colonnade concert with historical parade on the Spa Square awaits you.
