The Luhačovice Way of the Cross is a woodland walking route connecting mineral springs Viola and Marie, featuring 18 stations with enamel paintings by artist Jitka Jurnečková, consecrated in March 2016. The Viola spring, discovered in 2010 at 70 metres depth, provides mineral water suitable for respiratory patients.
You can enjoy a pleasant walk in the forests above the spa itself. The Luhačovice Way of the Cross is part of the Jurkovič Circuit and connects two mineral healing springs: Viola and Marie. Both springs are located in the woodland above the circular Ottovka pavilion. The individual stations of the Way of the Cross were created using enamel painting technique by artist Jitka Jurnečková at the request of the director of the Prague Spa Treatment House. It consists of twenty paintings, three inscriptions, and eighteen stations. The enamelled paintings are executed in a combination of white, blue, and black colours and measure 50 x 40 cm.
The individual stations were created in 2015 and were consecrated in March 2016. They connect the Prague Quarter with the area around the Ottovka spring. The Way of the Cross is a very popular relaxation zone. During your walk, you can pop over to the Luhačovice colonnade to taste the Vincentka spring or take a close look at the Social House. Before the beginning of the Way of the Cross, there is also a depiction of the Last Supper.
This is one of the youngest springs in Luhačovice. It was discovered in 2010 near the most popular Ottovka spring. The mineral healing water is drawn from a borehole 70 metres deep, where a pump is installed. The spring is suitable for patients with respiratory diseases, oncological conditions, stomach ailments, gallbladder issues, diabetes, or vascular diseases. Its yield is 18 litres per minute.
The spring can be found above the Social House on Spa Square. There is also a path marked with arrows from Viola to this well. Visually, the natural water resembles the Viola spring. However, it is also the least distinctive in taste. The spring originates from boreholes drilled in 2008 and 2010. In April 2014, it was consecrated to the sound of Václav Hudeček’s violin. Due to its subtle taste, the spring initially did not receive the status of a natural healing source. Marie is not very well known. The water pressure is very variable, so sometimes it can happen that no water even drips from the tap directly at the borehole.
