Healing Springs in Luhačovice in Winter

Stručná odpověď

Luhačovice's mineral springs remain partially accessible in winter, with the most notable being Vincentka — available year-round near the Spa Colonnade. This spring is especially valued during winter months for its benefits against respiratory illnesses, flu, and allergies. Ottovka spring is also accessible in the cold season, despite its gazebo being closed.

A visit to the spa combined with spring water tasting is the main highlight of a summer stay in Luhačovice. Lázně Luhačovice manages a total of 10 mineral waters. They help with spa treatment of the respiratory system, musculoskeletal system, digestive system, circulatory system, diabetes, and recovery after oncological treatment. But have you ever wondered what happens to the springs during winter? Some springs are out of operation in winter. The most famous ones are usually still available for visitors.

Vincentka, Ottovka, Nový Jubilejní, Aloiska

Vincentka, as the most famous spring in Luhačovice, is available year-round in the hall next to the Spa Colonnade. It’s particularly during the winter period that Vincentka is often sought after, along with products made from it. It has proven itself as an excellent remedy, especially in winter months during flu epidemics and respiratory illnesses. It’s also an invaluable helper for allergy sufferers.

Visitors can also draw Ottovka even during the cold period. The spring next to the tennis courts is closed in its gazebo. However, it can be accessed a few metres away by the stone wall. The mineral spring was completely closed for almost a year. Neither locals nor guests could use it. The reason was bacterial contamination. One of the symbols of Luhačovice has been saved and is once again accessible to everyone.

The Nový Jubilejní spring could be called one of the newest emerging sources. The crystal salt-shaped drinking fountain provides popular mineral water at 10°C temperature, just as throughout the entire year. The spring was initially winterised. However, this changed when Vincentka couldn’t be accessed due to repairs. Since then, Nový Jubilejní, located near the Community Centre on Spa Square, has been part of the springs open even in winter.

The drinking cure in winter months is also ensured thanks to Aloiska. Emerging in the small park in the White Quarter. At this spring, patients and visitors have the opportunity to drink warm water as well. Unlike Vincentka, which has predetermined opening hours for the hall, Aloiska’s drinking fountain is also located on the side of the smaller pavilion building that shelters the spring.
